DIRECTOR
Sherryl-Lee stepped on stage in the early eighties in a production of Half a Sixpence. Over the next 30 years, she enjoyed creating roles such as Miss Adelaide (Guys & Dolls), Reno Sweeney (Anything Goes), Mrs Meers (Thoroughly Modern Millie), and Golde (Fiddler on the Roof). Since 2010, Sherryl-Lee has directed musical theatre productions with community theatre organisations around South East Queensland, with a number of these productions receiving Del Arte Chart recognitions, and even an Australia Day Award for Best City-Wide Community Event of the Year. Some of her directing highlights include The Phantom of the Opera, How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Chicago, Mamma Mia, Freaky Friday, and It Shoulda Been You. Sherryl-Lee is the founder of, An Idiot On Stage, working to raise the profile of community theatre organisations.
GEOFFREY SECOMB
MUSICAL DIRECTOR
Geoff is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with over
40 years of experience in orchestral and theatre performance. Performance highlights include 5 years with QYSO (4 as Principal Clarinet), Queensland Symphony Orchestra, the Queensland Theatre Orchestra, and playing for many professional theatre productions. Geoff was Conductor of the Australia Day Award winning IMTC production of The Phantom of the Opera. Also a regular fixture in the orchestra pit as a player for many community theatre productions, his most recent credits as Musical Director include 42 Street, Anything Goes, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, Sweeney Todd, Miss Saigon, The Pirates of Penzance, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Savoyards’ 2015 production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, a production which received 4 Del Arte Chart recognitions, the Queensland premiere of Nice Work If You Can Get It (receiving 7 Del Artes Charts recognitions), City of Angels (BTG) and Les Miserables (Savoyards). Geoff currently plays clarinet in the Redland Sinfonia.
DESNEY TOIA-SINAPATI
CHOREOGRAPHER
With formal training in jazz, tap, classical and Polynesian dance (Isles of the Pacific Polynesian Dance Troupe), Desney is no stranger to the stage, her debut being at the age of six, cartwheeling across the stage in the 1986 Savoyard’s production of Showboat. Since then, she has performed in many shows with credits including roles in Nunsense (Sister Mary Leo), Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Desney’s choreographic credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Kinky Boots (Phoenix Ensemble) regional work with the Lockyer Regional Performing Arts (Music Man and Bye Bye Birdie), The Sound of Music (Choreographer/Assistant Director, Savoyards), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Speed Tap Routine), and Ensemble Choreographer for the 2014 Ipswich Musical Theatre Company production of The Phantom of the Opera, winner of a 2015 Australia Day Award for Best Community Event in Ipswich. Brisbane choreographic credits also include Savoyards’ productions of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, the Queensland premiere of Nice Work If You Can Get It; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Chicago and Hot Shoe Shuffle and Mamma Mia, with some of these productions receiving multiple Del Arte Charts recognitions.
